"Now we see Through a Glass Darkly..."

A short distance before me
stately stand four trees,
Three cedars and a pecan
are all my eyes can see.

They are shrouded in fog,
A dense eerie gray.
A mist has taken captive
the clear view of this new day.

This atmospheric phenomenon ---
A thick impenetrable curtain ---
Hides what lies beyond
Making it uncertain.

But now I see a faint line.
Just enough of the fog has cleared,
that a distant horizon
Beyond the trees has appeared.

As I write the fog keeps lifting,
And continues to reveal
That past what I thought the horizon
Lies yet another hill.

This one's still milky,
But no mistaking it's presence there.
What a profound lesson
The fog has to share.

Life is often shrouded
In mists of obscurity.
We strain our eyes in vain
Longing for clarity.

In God's perfect timing
Some of the fog will clear,
And a path ahead
Will slowly begin to appear.

As we journey on with Him,
In accordance with His perfect will,
More and more of what's in store,
to us He will reveal.

As we trust His wisdom,
We'll learn to patiently wait
For that future swoop of His mighty hand
Making all remaining fog dissipate.

Oh and then the splendor ---
Depth of vision untold ---
When our eternal, heavenly view
Our Father will unfold!
